Lunar New Year 2015 - Year of the Goat

Christmas Island
Lunar New Year is one of the most important traditional Chinese festivals, celebrated throughout the world. Lunar New Year 2015 celebrates the beginning of the Year of the Goat.

The Goat is the eighth sign of the Chinese Zodiac and symbolises independence. Those born under the Goat sign are considered shy, creative and affectionate. The Lunar New Year stamp issue for 2015 is the eighth in our special 12-year series, featuring each of the animal signs of the Chinese Zodiac. The stamps depict the Chinese calligraphic symbol for the Goat and a pictorial derivation.
